My GT with 164k miles gets me around 32 MPG to as much as 35 MPG (about 400 to 3/4 of a tank, I always fill-up at that point) depending on how I drive and where I drive to. When I bought the car I was getting around 26, but I did a tune-up, consisting of NGK copper plugs, synthetic oil change with a good oil filter, fuel system cleaner, and ran the car with Seaform (not sure if it really works or not, but after doing this plus everything mentioned above, my mileage shot up).
As far as driving habits, I shift at about 3k from first to second, then at 2.5k from there on. Also make sure your tire pressure is a consistent 32-33psi, that is one of the biggest factors in your gas mileage, as well as using A/C or lack thereof. *This is with 87 octane. The advantages of getting 93 aren't worth the price difference. -Matt |
