QUOTE(Harold_Fastwaker @ Dec 11, 2007 - 1:27 AM) You need some injector cleaner and a good tune up. I push 475 constantly on mine, thats highway and city driving combined for about 50/50 each way. 87 Octane for that as well. I bet I could push over 500 if I ran the tank to half a gallon. I too have thought about running my gt with only 3/4 to 1/8 full to shave off fuel weight. QUOTE(malpaso @ Dec 11, 2007 - 7:43 AM) if you want to lower your fuel consumption: 1. it's about drive style 2. you car must be lighter (no needless things in a trunk, etc.) 3. leaner tires... (I don know right English word for this however we call it "rolling resistance" between street and tire). 4. clean injectors... 5. better sparks + distributor (or lets say in perfect condition... not old, dirty, burned... etc.) it works works any car... I usually get over 400 miles to a tank (50/50 city/highway) with just putting in some injector cleaner every few other fill-ups, keep the tires at correct pressure and stay on top of my oil. I changed up my driving style abit to see how high I can get it. If I see I'm gonna have to stop soon then I let off the gas and coast for a while. (noticed myself, family and friends all keep the gas down and then imediate brake. Why not use some inertia force here? ) -------------------- CLOSED on 25 acres! -shop coming soon.... |
