just what to know whats the best motor swap to do?
with a $1700 limit

invest in a rebuild and turbo set up.
you won't be able to get yourself a reliable swap for that cash

nor will you be able to rebuild and turbo.

a decently done swap in a GT should run you ~ 3500-4k minimum if you do most of the work yourself, (except harness and exhaust)
having a ST, or wanting the e153 adds a bunch to the project.
