so in you guys experience what is better or more fun to use when it comes to turbo? It can be from any standpoint relible, less work to keep running, better performance, availibility, wich one blows easier? Feel free to just add your .02 cents personal experiences and even time slips.

(if a thread like this already exists disregard this one)

ok, so continuing with turboing the 5s, ive seen a couple of guys put in aftermarket camshafts, forged pistons, etc.

I have almost 160 in my car, i will have the engine rebuilt soon for turbo. But i would like to make the engine stronger. What is the major weakness of the 5s that can be dealt with aftermarket parts. Or is it just a waste of money and no matter what you do the engine still is weak?

Anybody with an input?

lets say investing no more than 3 to 4 k in preparing the engine....

with ~3500 for motor work, you could order a fully built longblock, with stage III headwork, from mcs.
that would be:
forged pistons
3s rods, with the 5s crank machined down to accept them.
1mm OS valves, springs, and porting blah blah.
throw in a 450-600$ set of cams.
then you'd have a longblock that could handle about as much boost as you would ever wanna run in a 6gc.
THEN, another 1500-2k for EMS, + tuning,
and a BIG turbo, and you'd be making more power than you'd ever need in a FWD celica.
