wow when I looked at this the other night I didnt even notice I was on the 2nd page...LOL

1st off:

yea man i bet its the head gasket like we all talked about last night. get like 2 or 3 of them after its fixed that should fill that gap...also i would definitely keep the turbo set up...its worth it in the end.

this is flat out the stupidest Idea I have ever heard of.... period, this doesnt even fall under the "it seemed like a good idea at the time" catagorey...if there was a car darwin award you woulda just gotten it.....

If you have major gaps between your head and engine block then you either need to scrape off the adhesive or get either the block or head replaned. you can also pick up thicker head gaskets for a decent price- not ripping on you here jwalk.

2nd: please tell me you hooked up an oil return hose... even if you didnt just lie to me and tell me you did and then go replace your turbo cuz its cooked an get the 3sgte oilpan and hook up the line.

3rd: removing the head is an easy project if you know what you are doing and take your time. Just make sure you take the head to a machine shop and have them check to make sure its not warped... could explain gap you have.

4th: listen to 97GTinKC... he's right... lower that compression or you will have this kinda stuff happen over and over agian... I cant count the number of times I have seen this kinda stuff happen over the last 4-5 years.. 11:1 cant handle boost very well for long.. not without a complete rebuild - period.

5th: if you need help ask man..

jwalk - I dont wanna come off as a dick here cus im not trying to be.. just do it right the 1st time so your not in this same spot 6 months down the line, trust me I have blown motors before and know how much it sucks to not have your car.. hell its been way over a year since the last time I drove mine and I didnt even blow nething up this time biggrin.gif
