Honestly, this was the worst movie I have ever seen. Just my two cents. The best part was when the Army started blowing stuff up. That was it.

The message at the end was "it's still alive." It is VERY easy to hear...
I loved the movie. I hate the people that were whining about there not being much information. What can you expect? It's a documentary, we know as much as these people do. All the information you could want is in the viral marketing sites, but that's too much work for a lot of average joe movie sheep out there. The monster is a deep sea creature, from the coldest, deepest part of the ocean with the most pressure. Slusho (the company Rob is going to be the VP of Marketing for) harvests Seabed's Nectar, which nobody really knows much about. Some people speculate it might be eggs. There's weird stories about Seabed's Nectar. Slusho is wholly owned by Tagruato, a Japanese drilling company. They lose a satellite in the water (Splash at the end of the Coney Island clip) and have to go to retreive it, and that wakes the monster up. If you didn't like Cloverfield, you went in expecting an action flick/monster sci-fi-o-rama movie. If you did like it, you accepted the fact that at heart, Cloverfield isn't a monster movie at all. It's a love story, and the monster is only a catalyst between Rob and Beth's relationship. Here's my big post from another forum I visit: SPOILERS BE YONDER They didn't nuke, or tactical nuke NYC. If they did, the SD Card in the camera would be destroyed from the EMP. The United States would never do that. Had to be a JDAM or two in there, or some really heavy kilo's dropped on the monster. Do I think it's dead? Yes. The pictures on http://www.1-18-08.com/ have led me to believe it is. I think it lives past the end for a while before getting owned by the Navy. If you look, theres a LOT of blood in the water, some mangled parts (which seem to be a whale though), and if you sort the photos around, theres our Navy and some A-10's attacking the water. Also, there's speculation that in the end in the credits Rob whispers something like "It's still alive..." Typical JJ Abrams mystery. People said they listened to it forward and backward, and that both ways it sounds like "It's still alive." I listened to it backward, and it sounded exactly, in ENGLISH like "It's still alive." Do I want a sequel? No. Sequels are rubbish. Also on http://www.1-18-08.com/ if you stay there long enough you hear the roar a few minutes into just chilling on the site. Here's the sound clip from the very end of the credits. It has to be played in Reverse to sound like anything. This is typical of JJ Abrams. backwards http://boomp3.com/m/bd034dfca370 By the way. The movie is not a "monster" movie like everyone seems to believe. That's just a backdrop. I also don't think that it has any parallels to Iraq, or the wars in the middle east. Yes, I see similarities, but I don't think that's what Abrams was going for. Cloverfiedl is essentially one man's quest to save the woman he loves, and it just so happens that there's a giant monster attacking the city behind him. By the way, Slusho, and Tagruato, are two names often tossed around. Slusho is a popular Japanese drink in the Cloverfield world, and Tagruato is a drilling company from what I've heard. Apparently Slusho's main ingredient is called Seabed's Nectar, and they had to partner with Tagruato to drill for it in the deepest parts of the ocean...but Tagruato was searching for a peice of their satellite (Hence the splash you saw when Rob and Beth were at Coney Island). So the creature came from the sea, just like Abrams said. Do I want a sequel? No, but I would like to see them release videos from other perspectives VIA INTERNET that maybe give some more information. I think that would be cool.
