I was using the lever to open the trunk and it broke off in my hand. My question is, how do I remove/service this and is there any way to replace the lever with a jury-rigged solution? Thanks in advance for any help.

First make sure you have a replacement trunk switch.
I had the same problem on my car I changed it without reading any kind of manuals its pretty easily sorry I don't have pics or anything but you'll have to take the drivers door sill off and open up the carpet near the trunk switch you'll have to pull it out the back where its clamped onto the bottom frame of the car I don't remember where all the screws are but just take out whatever you see and make sure you put them back the same way. Once you take the lever out you'll have to take apart the broken trunk switch but make sure you take the release cable off first so you can take out the switch after that pop in the new one then put the release cable back on and make sure everything works then you'll have to clamp it back on the bottom again (Might be hard if you have big hands I have small hands and I had trouble....) then reassemble everything. Thats all I can remember I did this awhile ago. All common sense stuff its like changing batterys in a remote. Or you can do it the ghetto way and hammer a nail to it and use that as a lever for the trunk switch but I don't recommend that..... -------------------- "To Protect And To Serve The Wealthy" -POLICE
