Alright guys, I need some help with a new amp I'm getting... I've heard after 1000 watts rms you should upgrade the alternator as well as the batter and wiring. If I got a 1500 watt mtx thunder class d amp and ran 1 or 0 gauge wiring instead of my 4 now, would there still be problems with the alt? I just do not want to get this amp and then run into a lot of electrical problems. Also, my hifonics is about 900 rms right now and I havn't had a problem, which is why im considering this... Thanks for any help or advice everybody

Thanks for the input guys, I have a big cap but I've heard caps and batts are really only good when playing music with the car off... I'm just tired of the hifonics because I know my type R's can be much louder and handle a lot more power, plus the type r's are dual 2 ohm so I have them running at 2 ohms... I really just want to know how long the alt will hold up since the mtx pushes 1000rms @2ohms and its underrated so it should be around 1200 which is about 300 more than my hifonics and I havnt had any problems... Just wanted to know if anybody has ran into any problems with huge mono amps.
