Well, I have a 6th ge. TWM short shifter and it was very stiff and felt like there were rocks while shifting but i only used WD-40 to lube the ball joints (which you shouldn't do) and no grease, so thanks to Valo666, he advised that i went to get some white lithium grease from partsource, its a big spray canister with the small nose extention piece (the red straw) and sprayed it in the ball joints and its still a bit hard once in awhile when shifting into 1st gear and reverse, however the rest of the shifting into all other gears are beautifully smooth. So that's my 2 cents
P.S. If you were to purchse the TRD quick shift kit, since it's a complete assembly could you simply cut the stick down to make it shorter and custom groove it back so you can put back on ur OEM knob or get an aftermarket knob with those screw tightning screws? i don't see anything wrong with that. It shouldn't affect the shifts. This post has been edited by _mikeE: Feb 7, 2008 - 1:46 AM |
