I Need Help With Something Options

Ok so this has kept me up nights...

So in the first Terminator movie, Kyle Reese comes back from the future, sent by John Connor to protect his mother's life. So Reese sleeps with Sarah Connor and she has a child, John Connor. So how does someone exist prior to sending his father back in time to knock up his mother?

Ok well to be honest, I've never seen the first movie . But ok, time travel is so confusing. It's like, ok say I wanted to change something that happened at 2pm last Monday. But, let's say, Bob, had already traveled back in time to make sure that everything stays the same. Would I have to travel back to last Monday at 2pm as well to fight Bob, or would I just have to travel back to 2 minutes before Bob traveled back in time to make sure he never travels back in time in the first place. However at this point in time, he is already in the past technically. But anyways, I understand the entire paradox. The major flaw would be that in "original" time, John has no father at all, and magically appears out of nowhere apparently. So if only Sarah Connor could tell us who his father was in the original time, it would be easier to figure out. So to solve you problem, you call up Maury, and have her be on his show.....in the past... before she met Kyle Reese.
