There is a rev limiter, the only reason why 00-01 GT-Ss are better is because lift kicked in at 6000rpm and had a redline of 8400. 01s had a revised shift gates in attempt to lower the percentage of people misshifting and blowing up the engine.

QUOTE(hellsyphon @ Feb 17, 2008 - 9:17 PM) There is a rev limiter, the only reason why 00-01 GT-Ss are better is because lift kicked in at 6000rpm and had a redline of 8400. 01s had a revised shift gates in attempt to lower the percentage of people misshifting and blowing up the engine. People are still blowing their trannys regardless of the shift gates. If you want some thing fun, pick up the 02-03 impreza wrx. The price is similiar to the 7th gen gts'. Well atleast compared to the 04-05 ones. You can find the gt-s's from 00-02 for hella cheap in MN. -------------------- 98 Celica gt red- totaled deer
94 Celica st black DD (bad weather beater)- totaled deer 95 Celica gt silver- chassis sold 88 Celica All-Trac (Burned to a crisp) 94 Celica gt white (sold) In need of a rust free chassis!!!! |
