Does anyone know how to go about importing cars and registering them in California? I am searching online but not getting any real helpful information. I even checked with the DMV but what was listed doesn't really make sense. I see people with Skylines registered in California and for sale. Even the insurance companys will insure them as if they were usdm vechicles. What the heck?

Nevermind I did find a source regarding the GT4 and importing. Though if anyone has or knows of anyone who has done this and has or can talk to them personally, I am still interested in hearing about the steps taken in doing such. The only thing that bothers me (Chastise me if you will) is the whole driving on the right side. Some of you may like that, I don't think I would, but I am willing to try it.

LOL Yeah. It's not about just having a gt4. It's about having something not everyone else has. I have seen a curren in japan for $1300 in great condition (so it appears). I see guys with skylines in California. There has to be a way to get these suckers down here. I even heard people can build their own cars and they can purchase a vin # and such through the dmv so long as it passes those tests that are needed. Worse case scenario, I am sure someone (just doing conversion) can build the car or even switch the plates, claim they built it and purchase a vin # for the car.

Dude! I even seen 2007 Supras! Only in the states they stopped making them in 98. How crazy is that? Even mr2's past 95'(or was it 300zx in the 2000's). Unless what I was looking at was lying, but seriously! I seen them for sale. That's nucking futs!

No. Sorry, you're mistaken. No 2007 Supras.

My bad. I was just tripping out because of the new years of cars that we have here old.

"2000" - Supra RZ (Thought they stopped after 98' like in the states)
1997 - Nissan 180sx type X (thought they stopped after 94)
2002 - Mazda RX7 Type R (95')

It's nuts!
