Here's the deal. I put the convertible top down yesterday for my drive to work (since it was really nice out). When I got there and put the top back up, I noticed the rear glass window had completely come apart from the seal at the top of it. Not much I could do except lock the car and hope it didn't rain while I was working. I know about 3 years ago the previous owner had the whole top replaced, but apparently it's not OEM. This morning I went to one of the auto upholstery shops nearby and he pretty much said I had two options:
a. Fix the sillicone (sp) seal w/ no guarantee that if I put the top up and down that it would hold (mainly b/c of how the new top is going down)-That would be around $100 or b. Replace the glass window all together with a plastic one that will be able to hold- about $600 for just the WINDOW + whatever for labor. I love this car, but damn, $600 for a piece of plastic..? Keep in mind that I am in college, and only working part time. I think I could live with not putting the convertible top down very often (I don't a bunch anyway), but I just don't know... Thoughts please... -------------------- |

WTF? I sent one....
Well it was involving how to do it yourself. Same job as the mechanic. It was much longer than this post... And i forgot what i said, lol. Basicly, do you feel comfortable doing it yourself? I can walk you thru and show you pics, but it does require some work, and medio-core skill with a caulk gun. -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!!
