I will be buying a 3sgte for my three swap coming up soon here once i get some things straightened out...

So if i were to buy a caldina 3sgte would that still be direct bolt on to my GT tranny/ engine mounts?

Obviously the caldina has more power "out of the box" over a 3rd gen 3sgte but i am wondering why more people havent swapped in a caldina 4th gen 3sgte?

Would the caldina motor be a better block to run if i did alot of engine work on it? ie: is it a stronger block?

thanks for your help guys, i got the shop i am going to use to do the swap for me(i know ya'll think i should do it myself, but i hate working on cars mad.gif ) so i will let them deal with it, i'll just sit back and watch smile.gif
So basically they are waiting for me to order the block, but i am not in a real hurry here i want to make sure i get the right motor, for right now, and for years from now...

thanks for all your help guys, ya'll rock

The things that need heavy custom work is the ECU/wiring harness, ignition component (because of coil-on-plug). In my case, I used a Megasquirt II ECU with Ford EDIS wastespark ignition system and everything works nicely.

Wait...what? You didnt have megasquirt.

You want power but have no money. That's a problem.

Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.
