Anyone have this problem? My celica's battery gets completely drained from time to time, Initially i thought it was the window roll up modules trickling the power away, or the extra fuel cut and start cut relays i have installed. But after careful inspection, I notice when ever i leave my rear defroster switch on; my car battery would be completely dead by the next morning. I check the alternator and its giving 14 volts so it prefectly capable of recharging the system. I'm thinking the auto shut off mechnism in the defroster is dead. Anyone have any idea;s how to test this idea? |

[if I am not mistaken] the rear defroster in an ST does not automatically shut off. you push it in and it stays in (on) until you push it again and it comes out (off). The GT defroster has an auto shut off built in, push it in and it returns to the same position and the light turns on to let you know its on, then the light goes off when it auto shuts off.
that being said, it still does not mean leaving it on would drain your battery This post has been edited by hurley97: Mar 4, 2008 - 8:15 PM -------------------- |
