hey guys. i was roaming autozone the other day. i ran across things such as fuel injection cleaner, octane boosters, and stuff that supposed to clean your intake and carb and stuff like that. all of them would be dispensed through the gas hole.
im just wondering if these things really work? they are labeled as lasting for 3,000 miles which would mean i would only use 2 bottles a year. thats like 10 dollars a year which isnt bad if these things actually do something. anyone have experiance with them? |

Like tylenol - I think it is psychological medicine. I recently bought a Celica and the guy I bought it from seafoamed the engine not too long ago, but at idle was rough (oscillating b/w 800-1000 rpm). How I solved the problem: I filled up with premium and added some STP fuel injector (or fuel system, I don't remember) cleaner. I don't think premium gas alone could have done it, so it must've been the STP treatment... Only cost me $3 at some gas station. |
