my A/C would need re-piping and that sounds like a lot of time and money to me. i had it checked and re-charged the first summer, it leaked dry. i had it checked and repaired the following summer (500$), it leaked dry. i didn't run it last summer because i'm tired of poisoning the planet's atmo, wasting $.$$ and dragging around a lot of unnecessary weight. the question now is: is it worth paying to have the whole thing ripped out? has anyone tried to do this on their own? how hard is it? any thoughts on the subject will be appreciated.

just cut the belt off.
its fast and reversable. So if you ever sell your car, the buyer would not have to locate parts. the compressor and lines will only save you around 60 pounds. to pay someone to remove it is just not worth it. |
