I put my GT4 hood on my car today just to see if it fit right and noticed that the insulation was all messed up (its hanging off the hood and touching the engine. Can I leave it the way it is or will it catch on fire? what about the grill in the hood, wont rain get in it and mess up my engine? How do I fix this stuff?

It's this special wool stuff, no need to cut it, and it won't catch on fire. It's just an insulator for the heat.
Also, when I got my gt4 hood, I also inquired about rain. Apparently there's been this waterproof spray that was sprayed over your engine bay so no need about rain getting in however, it'd be wise if you got a rain guard or something to protect your wires. I was lucky to get mine from Randy (97lestyousay) he doesn't make them anymoer though. The only downside to this is that your engine won't stay as clean as usual no more.
Anyway, just take it off, it'll take some weight off your car and now that you cut it, it kinda looks ugly with this thing dangling around.
