I ordered an Alpine CDA-9885 from crutchfield last week and just got it in the mail yesterday. I also bought the XM tuner for it. I got everything installed and wired up today, and I LOVE IT. I was so done with local radio that I was about ready to pop my eardrums with toothpicks. Wiring the satellite antenna also made me feel very futuristic so +5 points for me. The problem is that after putting everything back together all of the lights except the rear defrost button on my A/C unit no longer work. Neither the symbols light up, nor do the green lights above the buttons lite up when I select where I want the air. If ALL the lights didn't work I would think I forgot to plug something in, but since that one is still on I just have to assume that jolting a bunch of 11 year old bulbs around causes them to break. Does anyone know who was doing the LED upgrades to the A/C units? He was making the lights blue and red and the temp setting knob would change from blue to red as you adjusted the temp. I think it was pittfirefighter but I couldn't locate the old thread, either through browsing this forum or reading through his old posts. Any help on that would be fantastic, and I had to share with someone about another upgrade to the car smile.gif.

it was me but i really haven't had any time to work on them lately.... now it is possible that the lights are just off due to the fuse size for the radio/lights... it all uses the same fuse so the alpine unit with the XM tuner might be pulling more power and the lights aren't getting what they need... this is just a possibilty... otherwise the bulbs can be replaced from the back side with new ones which i have... not brand new but working.... the LED mod just has been way too much of a PITA and time consuming for me to be working on them. If i get around to doing them again... i will be sure to let you know

EDIT: the bulbs can be replaced without taking any screws out of the unit... just from turning it around and looking at the back.... and i have been crazy busy due to college which totally sucks... just had to say that
