I lowered my car awhile ago on stock shocks, and I'm thinking of either just buying new shocks or coilovers (but I honestly don't think I'll want to spend the money to get them). But my camber was messed up when I lowered it, and was wondering if the alignment would fix this, or if I'd have to get the camber top mounts (which are expensive in themselves).

Whether or not you require camber bolts depends on how much you lower it -- generally, an inch or less won't require camber adjustment, but each car is different, particularly after a decade-plus on the road.
My camber was at the standard for my car after lowering. Another owner of the same model, who installed the same strut-and-spring combo, had to install camber bolts. However, removing your struts and then putting them back generally means you'll need an alignment if not for camber, then for caster and toe-in. It's one thing if you disassembled and reassembled the same parts while matching up the prior settings; it's another to take one type of part off and install a new part of different design. |
