Hi!
Now i've myself a 6th gen Celica, and i love it! its a piece of artwork indeed:)
So now its time to make it even a little better, and one of the things i want to do, is to turbocharge it.
Im kind of new in the world of car engines, turbos and such. But ive done my homework and learned a lot about it, but its still some things thats a little fuzzy to me.
There is already a lot of great posts about turbocharging here, but what i want to do, is to make a thorough description of the prosess, gathering information and pictures from all the other posts. So that when someone else like me wants to learn the ways of charging, he (or she) can find it all in one post. step by step describing every little detail, that may for some is "too easy to mention" but for others maybe a hole in the logic.

I think i'll just start with some questions, and then start writing the walkthrough later on.

first of all, i've understood that the fuel pump HAS or Should be replaced by a stronger one, when installing a turbo. i've seen that some use the "walbro pump" and some use the "supra's stock pump. There's some things thats a little fuzzy to me about this installation, something with the fuel pump "regulator"? im quite blank here, so please help me out.

1.Q: When installing a new fuel pump, what other changes than replacing the "pump unit" has to be made, and how?

Then there is the oil hoses, and placement of these. I know that you have do drill a hole for the "oil return hose" in the "bottom pan" of the engine. But:

2.Q: where exactly does the "oil feed line" go? how to install it? what items are necessary?

Same goes for the cooling system, but here the whole thing is a little fuzzy.

3.Q: how to install the cooling system for the turbo? which items are necessary?
Then there's a lot of people who wants to turbocharge their engine without blowing up either their wallet or their engine. so:

4.Q: Whats the bare minimum required items for installing a turbo, when focusing on reliability and cost?

So, i hope, and believe that i will get some very good answers here, i know a lot of you guys got plenty with skills and know-how on the subject, biggrin.gif and i know this will help out the people with less know-how, and an equal turbo-desire (like me:)). pictures would also be really great!

thanks in advance guys! lets make a great thread!:)

The map sensor is so ur computer can read boost... The injectors are for reliability so ur car will get enough fuel . Those 2 things you dont wanna leave out of any turbo kit.
