Does anyone kno how to put an aftermarket shift boot in? it has an elstic base. I kno i have to make some mods to it, but just wondering if anyone knows the fool proof, correct way... kindasad.gif

If it's got an elastic base to it then what you'll need to do is pull your OEM shift boot out and rip the seam out of the base. After that is done you should have the metal base out of it. Then cut the elastic base off your new boot and (GASP) sew it back together.


It's pretty easy to do. I picked up a Honda Accord shift boot from a junkyard and sewed the two together to make a short shift boot. Looked great.
