every single aftermarket cd player i've had in a 6gc have all had a gap on the left side. it's not much of a gap but still. it's there
for example

hardly noticeable on this pic but much more noticeable in this pic

can you see the slight gap? what's the easiest way to get rid of this? i just don't know how to start. maybe get a small washer and install it on the right hand side?

does anyone else have the same issue?
thanks

Nah you're not alone in that - I've had that problem on several HUs in 6gc's. The hardest part is finding a washer thin enough to match half the distance you want to make up. I'm a perfectionist too so I fixed this problem with washers and then promptly lost them down in the center well of no return the next time I pulled it out. At that time I said Fcuk it and now I'm used to it.
So I guess what I'm saying is use some black silicon adhessive or something to adhere the washers to the HU or the brackets [on the inside of course] so you don't loose them like I did. BTW - I think I finally found some super thin stainless washers at Wal-mart of all places - good luck.
Hope this helps.

*Come to think of it - those missing washers are probably some of the 50K rattles I hear everytime I hit a bump kindasad.gif *

Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them.

you could elongate the fixing holes on bracket to allow a minimum of side ways ajustment then no need for washers it doesnt look like you need much so should enogth to do it biggrin.gif
