ok my buddy bought an 01 acura CL type S. it has a 3.2 v6 v-tech engine (230 HP plus a new injen cold air intake)with 80k miles and a brand new tranny with about 200 miles on it. its a shame that he works twice as much as he sleeps. so he wrecked it while napping at the wheel. so im trien to work out a deal with him and drop it in my celi.now i didnt do any measuring yet but im thinking this might work. im not worried about mechanical work and a lil bit of fab work. what im wondering is would i have to use the fuse panels and every lil electrical piece under the hood and dash?

After seeing KES-D making his own 3mz-fe swap, and all the work involved, it took about a year of work and it's still not totally "perfect".
You're going to have alot of trouble. If you don't want to do custom wiring (speding litteraly hours and hours of studying wiring diagrams), YES you will have to basicly transplate the whole electronic of the Acura into the celica. But you're going to have to do some custom wiring anyway to link all the various component. Then you will probably need some custom axles, motor mounts for sure, shifter linkage, exhaust. And after all, it's not going to have the bottom torque of the toyota V6's. -------------------- -Rémy 02 SiR, 08 250R |
