i know for the honda engine, the engine names mean something. like the h22.

h- h series

22- 2.2 liter

the same for bmw like the 325

3- 3 series

25- 2.5 liter

i was just wondering what 3s-gte or 5s-fe, etc. means because it would be interesting maybe

BMW's HAD numbers that made sense. 328 was a 2.8L I6, the 318 was a 1.8L I4, NOW they went haywire and the numbers today 330, 323, they dotn mean ne thing cuz thats not the size of the engine.

The BMW numbers are the size of the engine, I am absolutly sure of it. Check www.carpoint.com for engine info.
or here is a direct link to the BMW engine info, SEE HERE!!!!
