i know for the honda engine, the engine names mean something. like the h22.

h- h series

22- 2.2 liter

the same for bmw like the 325

3- 3 series

25- 2.5 liter

i was just wondering what 3s-gte or 5s-fe, etc. means because it would be interesting maybe

here ya go, this should clear things up:

http://www.toyotacelicaonline.com/engine.htm

edit: chrobis man, the 2.4l engine in the US 240sx is a KA24DE. Japanese spec is a CA18DET hence the name 180sx. the silvia on the other hand has the 2.0l SR20DET you speak of wink.gif

I saw what looked like an early 90's 240sx in Paris, but it said 200sx and 2.0 turbo. Do you think it was labeled like that because it had the SR20DET? I thought it was weird that it said 200sx because over here weren't they just 2 door Sentras?
