[ I love the jump from "I don't know what this is" to "it must be supernatural." I am only leaving room for debate. You are the one who is stuck in one spot. That's all. I think I did list with "People will believe what they want to believe". I was only defending against what you said regarding Youtube. If you want to get technical, Supernatural is extraordinary, correct? So if I am not sure what it is in a sense of what is ordinary, supernatural seems fitting, no? If by one spot you mean until I see tangible evidence that any of these things exist, then yes. No Youtube video or TV show is going to change that. They are on TV to get ratings, you want to believe everything you see on TV you go right ahead. But in the real world here, ghosts, goblins, demons and whatever hootinanny you want to talk about, needs real world evidence. Supernatural means exactly how it sounds. SUPER NATURAL. Beyond nature, beyond the explanation of the natural world. Because you can't explain something doesn't mean it's beyond natural or beyond explanation. You simply don't know yet. Nobody takes it for what it is anymore? You mean people don't see things and automatically jump to fantastic conclusions because after all our time on the planet we finally can explain things using our brains and technology? Religious or scientific they are all theories? Here's a big big difference. Stay with me. SCIENCE IS BASED ON OBSERVATIONS. RELIGION DOES NOT. I'm dumbfounded at the fact that you put religious theories in a basket with scientific theories. QUOTE A theory is more like a scientific law than a hypothesis. A theory is an explanation of a set of related observations or events based upon proven hypotheses and verified multiple times by detached groups of researchers. One scientist cannot create a theory; he can only create a hypothesis. No reason for the cause? Wouldn't that be an important part of the explanation? Wouldn't that be the most important thing that people want to know, is why did this happen? The whole point of being scientific - is NOT staying in one spot. It's always changing what you believe to be true based on what is. Based on my observations, science isn't something your very familiar with. If by chance ghosts exist, and I became one, which I hope I would. I would do everything in my power to make people believe without a doubt. Such as forming in front of a large group of people and casually explained that I am in fact a ghost and ghosts do exist and look at all the creepy stuff I can do isn't it cool. But no you never get that you get a glimpse of something or a shadow or a cold chill or orbs of energy. Or how about bigfoot. With nearly every part of the world having this legend you'd think that maybe just maybe someone in the course of human history would stumble over some bones or a dead bigfoot because they aren't immortal. Do we have that, no. Or lets believe that the LochNess monster is in actuality a dinosaur that some how survived and has lived for hundreds of years even though the actual Loch cannot support an organism of that size. Think critically. Stop watching TV and going on to the internet to creepyabandonedhouses.com and purchasing Oija boards that finally allow spirits to participate in board games. EDIT: It doesn't have to be a basket. You can choose a carrying apparatus of your desire. This post has been edited by Supersprynt: Jun 13, 2008 - 8:49 AM -------------------- |
