So I wired up my SAFCII into my '95 Manual 5S-FE tonight, just as Manny described in his post however with problems. After wiring everything up I turned the key into the ON position and there was no smoke or any signs of improper wiring. Simply there was nothing on the display of the SAFCII.
Wired as indicated below: On the 26 pin connector. #3 Black w/ Yellow Stripe to Green (RPM) #14 Brown to Brown (Closest to ECU) then Black (Further from ECU) (Grounds) On the 16 pin connector. #2 Grey w/ Black Stripe (MAP) - CUT WIRE Engine Bay Wire Side to White ECU Wire Side to Yellow #11 Black w/ White Stripe to Grey (TPS) #13 Clear to Purple (Knock) I had a 22 pin connector (Manny had 12 pin) #12 Black w/ Yellow Stripe to Red (Power) So can anyone think of what my problem with the installation is? Is for some reason the #12 pin not the power and I need to hook up another pin to the red wire? Anyone installed on on a '95 that can help me out? Thanks. Well it turns out the problem was with my grounds. Not sure what the problem was, but I took the solder apart and redid the grounds and it works now. I originally tried the power and it was fine apparently.
Now I am questioning my other soldering, should I take apart the rest of the connections? So for the setup phase, what pressure sensor should be used? I used Pressure 02 in and 02 out. Any other setup options that you guys can share with me for the 5S-FE? As for my knock readings it looks like I am reading anywhere from 35 at 1500 RPM upto 170 in the upper RPM at WOT. I didn't really push it too hard though since I was still unsure about the connections.' Out of curiousity has anyone hooked up the blue wire to the O2 Sensor Wire to read the O2 Voltage? I am thinking of doing that this weekend. -------------------- |
