hey, I was just wondering do you think if you serviced your car every 5000km (3000 miles) and everything was looked after perfectly but you drove your car hard everyday as in just revved to near redline but didn't do any clutch dropping or wheel spinning how long do you think the engine would last?
how often do you guys redline? have you guys had any problems from driving the car too hard too much? how many kms, miles have you got out of cars you've driven hard day in day out? I know the car wouldn't last as long as a car that was driven with less revving, it is common sence but would it still generally last a long time. mainly talking about celica engines but I mean in general, bit of a silly question just bored haha. |

i would drive my car half and half but mostly more on the hard side...when im racing cough on the track cough i would shift right before redline...i also seafoam my engine and change the oil every 3k so that really helps...but i have about 151,000 miles on my car and its starting to burn oil pretty bad...the rings are proably shot but i also have another motor i am going to be droping in....it all depends on the driver...if you maintain your car, oil changes, tune ups every 3k etc you can beat it all you want...plus the fact that you cant blow up these motors anyway
