Ok,
I'm about to purchase an alarm/keyless entry and would like to use remote start as well. If i ever park on a hill I tend to leave the car in gear so it won't roll. If I park on flat ground I just leave it in neutral and pull up the ebrake. What I am wondering is if our car has a "neutral safety switch". I have heard some cars have this and it basicaly wont allow the remote start to work unless the car is in neutral. I know that if I dindt use this some of my friends would probly be playing with my keys one day and start it while its in gear. If we dont have a neutral saftey switch I wont even use this function. I would love to be able to get my heater going in the mornings though during the winter. Does anyone recomend a certian model of alarm/remote start for manual cars. Also does anyone have a diagram for our car of how to hook it up? including what wires I need to tap into for keyless entry and ignition. I have installed an alarm before but it didnt have remote start and I dindt use the keyless entry b/c i had manul door locks and didnt want to install actuators. Any help would be appreciated. |

im running a compustar remote 2way alarm and i dont have a neutral switch but to activate remote start what i have to do is park the car dont step on brake, pull up hand brake and remove key from ignition and the car is still running after you get out of the car and it shuts down after 5 secs and thats how i start my remote start
ya i dont do it on uphills or regular i just left my remote start to waste im gonna upgrade to a better alarm system that has 1 mile range which is pretty damn good !!! |
