 Question: Amplifiers for subs and speakers |

Long story short, my friend is giving me his sound system, its a box with 2 15's and a 4 channel amp. I have an extra pair of 6x9's laying around my house and was wondering if I could hook up the 6x9's to the other 2 channels. Would this hurt anything? Would I fry the speakers?

if u use the 4 channel amp and only use 2 channels the other channels power will just not be used,its not bad...are u sure a box with 2 15" subs will fit???

I would take the 4 channel and bridge two to 1 of the 15"s only and use the other two channels for the 6x9's - most modern amps can do this and will include a decent filter [depends on the brand and amp obviously]. Get us the specs and we'll get you on the right track.
