Witch aplication does the Celica (particularly BEAMS) run better with:

A) Standard air-box with an upgraded air filter (K&N, TRD)

B) Loose the air box, fit good brand induction kit (cone filter) with a cold air feed and some sort of heat shield

Option B allows alot more air to be sucked in but the trouble is its HOT air. Cold air contains more oxegen witch equals more bang so option A would be better for this but has a more restrictive flow.

The BEAMS engine is quite a high flow intake so the more air and the faster it can get there the better but again more hot air isnt necessarily better then slightly less cold air. Some engines suffer from induction kits, is BEAMA have this problem?

I have an induction kit at the moment but i've never went down the air-box and upgraded panel filter route.

Anybody got any experience?

the extra noise from an induction kit isnt important to me as my exhaust overshadows the engine noise anyway

if the filter is pretty much "open" in the engine bay....the hotter your engine gets the hotter the air is that is being sucked in.

drop in k&n panel filter in the OEM box. remove the resonators in the fender and run a duct from the front bumper opening to the box.
