legit, i have no idea how or why cold water is absorbed faster by the body... all i know is that it is.
our trainer doesnt let us touch any warm water at practices or games! I asked him y one day and he explained it all, but i dont remember it. and i can say the same to you about what you read on the internet... I've been an athlete all my life. Played soccer all through high school and college, ran track in highschool, ran a couple 5k/10k fun runs, never once have been given WARM water or heard a trainer or coach say anything about warm water being better for you then cold water as an athlete.. I never said anything about what to give a baby, i agree and know you give a baby warm milk. i was simply making a counter point to what you said about ask any runner. I just asked my friend who runs cross country and long distance, he drinks warm water when hes warming up because it will stay in your body longer, but any time during his run he drinks cold water to keep himself cooler. When his run is over he drinks a warm gatorade and a ice cold bottle of water(which to me seems kinda counter productive cause they are just gonna mix and so forth but w/e floats his boat). i wasnt trying to start an argument, just telling you what i've been told as an athlete, as for the interwebs link, just a link to a nutrition site ran by the university of Missouri/Kansas or something, i didnt say i believed what it said, just simply that it explained more about it... |

When his run is over he drinks a warm gatorade and a ice cold bottle of water(which to me seems kinda counter productive cause they are just gonna mix and so forth but w/e floats his boat). He drinks warm gatorade because it has more essential nutrients which gets absorbed faster because it is warm. he drinks the cold water to refresh himself. Cold water requires more engergy to convert into useable energy, when you use more energy your body heats up, drink cold water is counter productive. while refreshing yes, it is actually make your body burn more energy. If you dont believe in something you probablly shouldnt use it as evidence for your point This got started because Mccain said giving hot water to dehydrated babies, i was trying to eleborate for people who dont understand the science behind that. call up your advice nurse and tell her you are dehydrated and ask her if you should drink ice cold water or warm water, see what she says. i was explaining why deyhydrated babies should be drinking warm water. You countered with something that doesnt make sense(i.e. cold water is absorbed faster) i was just trying to eleborate the science behind why that doesnt make any sense. You your self said that you you have no idea why this works... so why are you trying to debate something you dont know about? -------------------- 1 JL 1,000/1v2
