Just the normal things when looking for cars, clean oil, full lock and turn around and check for clicking noises (CV joints), listen for any crunching in the gears, check to see if clutch is slipping, brake hard to see if rotors are bad. If It is a good deal and has bad CV's you're better of getting it as they aren't a major problem and they will need replacing eventually anyway.
The only things that have gone wrong on mine (190k) is water pump needed replacing, CV joints, upholstery on doors starts coming off, glove box behind the gear knob has a melted look. thats about it really apart from silly little things like lights dieing, fuses going and then normal wear of dizzy cap, rotor, spark plugs, leads. |
