For those who want to import your Celica to the states this information should help you out a little bit:
If you are in the Military the lingo should be easy to understand. For service memebers who have a Celica and want to bring it back stateside contact your local TMO office for more details. In a nut shell though. If you do not own a car in the states that is currently in storeage you are elligable to TMO your car to the states without fraight charge. This means. TMO will ship your car along with the rest of your belongings for free when it comes time to PCS. There is a downside. You are responsible for the modifactions it takes to make your Celi legal. I.E. windshield, reinforcements. emissions, and cleanliness. The basic inspection process. It will cost you a bit. TMO does not cover that. When it comes time for listing all of your belongings for TMO make sure you have the certificate that the exporters give you (It states that you car is ready for shipping). Contact a registered exporter from whatever country your located in and they should be able to handle all of that. But again it is going to cost you. Basically pay for mods not for shipping. (AGAIN CONtact YOUR LOCAL TMO OFFICE FOR MORE DETIALS!!!!!) For those that aren't service members its a little more difficult. TMO will not help you unless you work in a military institution that states you are elligable for TMO, so your on your own. For Civilians, you have to contact a registered exporter for the country you are currently living at and have them modify you car for stateside specs. Like service members. But you also have to contact a registered importer stateside to have you car shipped to the states. You will have to pay for the modifications aswell as the fraight charge. Frait charge verys between company. FYI get an estimate from different importers. This is as much info as I could find at this time. I will try to get more info when I can. But I really hope this helps alot of you. -------------------- From Japan to Texas my st202 follows me.
