Hey guys i was wondering, do i have to use a transmission out of a 6gc for the tranny swap or can i use one from a different toyota? If so what different toyotas can i use i know solara but what about a 5gc or even a 7gc Gt of course wink.gif camry too a list of tranny swap possibilities would be kinda cool

Are you in need of a transmission because your current tranny is busted or are you swaping the motor? You cannot use either c56 nor the c60 from the 7th gen celica's. You can use the s53 tranny from the 5th gen gt/gt-s, but they have weak synchros. You might as well source out a s54 tranny if you are on a budget. But if you want a heavy duty tranny get an e153 tranny from a v6 solara or convert an mrt2 turbo e153 to fwd or convert an alltrac e153 awd to fwd. But if you opt to go with the e153 you will need the 3s flywheel, 3s clutch disc and pressure plate. You will also need mr2 inner axles and alltrac outers. Good luck.
