When i put the key in the drivers door lock, the key wont move the lock left or right, its stuck. The door handle is also loose on the right side so it seems as though one of the nuts that holds it to the door has come loose. I havnt had time to pull the door panel off and take a look at it, but what could be causing the door lock to be stuck and not lock or unlock?
And on the passenger side, i can unlock the doors and i can go to the drivers door and open it, but the passenger side door doesnt open, even if the door is unlocked from the inside. I have to lock the door, and turn the key to the left 2 times and the door pops but locks again, then i have to unlock it again and the door opens. What exactly is causing these issues with the locks? Is it just worn or cracked connectors? This post has been edited by Por2geezcelica: Aug 19, 2008 - 11:59 PM |

i had enough time to take the drivers door panel off and look around before the sun went down. One of the bolts that holds the outside door handle to the door is missing, so ill have to get a bolt to hold the handle on tight. Anyone know the size of the bolt? I tried pulling up and down on the rod that goes to the key hole and it wouldnt budge up and down with the force of my hand. Is something inside the mechanism stuck and wont let the rod move up and down?
And on the passenger side i found out that when i lift the outside door handle it actually locks the door, so in order to open it i need to hold the lock in the unlock position then lift the handle. I didnt get a chance to get the door panel off the passenger side because it got dark. Any ideas why its doing that? Does anyone have any pictures of how the lock mechanism and all the rods are supposed to be connected? This post has been edited by Por2geezcelica: Aug 20, 2008 - 7:34 PM |
