Ok, hit the wear indicators on the Celi yesterday, NOT going to drive around listening to squealing for too long. Here's the skinny of what I'm looking at/thinking:
Pads -- Either going to be EBC Redstuff, or Hawk HPS. Whichever I find a better deal on. I've used both brands and trust both, so that's that for that. Rotors -- Sadly, there's just NOT a good bunch of options out there for the 6GC. Having seen the 7th Gen brake thread though, and knowing that the 7th Gen front rotors are 3mm thinner than the 6GC GT rotors, I'm thinking of popping a decent set of 7th Gen front rotors on the car. But...... What about the 7th Gen REAR brake rotors??? Are those the same at the 6th Gen GT in terms of diameter and offest? And.....going to have the calipers and brackets powdercoated red while they're off the car. Oh I wish I had the cash for a big brake kit upgrade on the front if not both. -------------------- |

Think I found what I might do. Napa has some REALLY decent pricing on it's standard blanks: Local store quoted me at $38.01 each for the fronts and $30.67 each for the rears. I may just go that route with the EBC or Hawks pads, and then save the pennies for the shock upgrade which is needed more than anything, and then a big brake upgrade some time after that.
Besides, I've always been impressed with the factory brakes on this car. Makes my big honking brakes on my Trans Am feel like circa 55' drums. -------------------- |
