Ok, hit the wear indicators on the Celi yesterday, NOT going to drive around listening to squealing for too long. Here's the skinny of what I'm looking at/thinking:
Pads -- Either going to be EBC Redstuff, or Hawk HPS. Whichever I find a better deal on. I've used both brands and trust both, so that's that for that. Rotors -- Sadly, there's just NOT a good bunch of options out there for the 6GC. Having seen the 7th Gen brake thread though, and knowing that the 7th Gen front rotors are 3mm thinner than the 6GC GT rotors, I'm thinking of popping a decent set of 7th Gen front rotors on the car. But...... What about the 7th Gen REAR brake rotors??? Are those the same at the 6th Gen GT in terms of diameter and offest? And.....going to have the calipers and brackets powdercoated red while they're off the car. Oh I wish I had the cash for a big brake kit upgrade on the front if not both. -------------------- |

I've got NAPA premium rotors on my rear brakes (I did the GT disc conversion) and overall I'd say I'm really happy with them. One thing I'm not happy about is that the center "hub" or whatever that part is, is rusty on the surface. My front rotors (which came from Schuck's/Checker's/Kragen) were replaced at the same time and are doing the same thing. I'm not sure how to prevent this or if the Brembos will do it too, but it's something to be aware of. The surface that the pads actually touch are totally fine though.

What you're describing is normal. I plan to combat this by having the hub centers powder coated black when I take the calipers in for red powder coat. -------------------- |
