Ok, hit the wear indicators on the Celi yesterday, NOT going to drive around listening to squealing for too long. Here's the skinny of what I'm looking at/thinking:

Pads -- Either going to be EBC Redstuff, or Hawk HPS. Whichever I find a better deal on. I've used both brands and trust both, so that's that for that.

Rotors -- Sadly, there's just NOT a good bunch of options out there for the 6GC. Having seen the 7th Gen brake thread though, and knowing that the 7th Gen front rotors are 3mm thinner than the 6GC GT rotors, I'm thinking of popping a decent set of 7th Gen front rotors on the car.

But......

What about the 7th Gen REAR brake rotors??? Are those the same at the 6th Gen GT in terms of diameter and offest?

And.....going to have the calipers and brackets powdercoated red while they're off the car. biggrin.gif

Oh I wish I had the cash for a big brake kit upgrade on the front if not both.

I bought a set of brembo blanks and hawk HPS pads from tire rack.

Good:
Excellent stopping power hot or cold! I used to have a set of ceramic pads that were terrible cold but worked well once they warmed up. Not a problem with the hawks.

Bad: Brake dust. Lots of Squeal.

Remember the thread I just posed about the clear coat on my lip being eaten away? This happened right after installing the hawk pads. The dust was pretty bad at first, but seems to have settled down a bit. The old ceramic pads I used to have (satisfied pro) didn't dust at all.

Also, I have a lot of squeal. Im not really sure if I can blame the hawks for this or not. Im missing the extra shims and anti rattle springs that are supposed to be on the pads. I believe this is whats causing the noise, as my old pads did the same thing.
