i posted a topic about a carbon fiber hood i bought off of a fellow 6gc member. to be exact it was the VIS oem style hood. i got it for $80. should i paint it red to match my car, or refinish it. there are some really deep scratches that go down to the carbon fiber layer. i was told i could sand it all the way down and refinish it or smooth it out and paint it. i'm not sure if i want the carbon fiber look. the cops eye up cars like that and all of my lady friends tell me my car looks dum with a black carbon fiber hood. so any suggestions are welcomed. i just want the best way to make my hood look good. thanks.

x2. Carbon Fiber actually has (surprise surprise) Carbon fibers in it. These don't sand so well; and you'll end up with a bigger mess repairing it.
You can use fiberglass resin to fill in any horrid gashes, otherwise prime and paint. TINY defects can be filled with the prime. Goodluck. -------------------- QUOTE (presure2 @ Nov 6, 2010 - 6:16 AM) Via FB: fcuking awsome!!! D-man FTW! Damn D-Man - most impressive.
