I decided to have a go with scratch remover today after wanting to remove swirls/scratches my paint had. I bought 3M Scratch Remover for $7 from Wal-Mart, comes in an 8oz. bottle. I started using it, and the surface already started looking fantastic. Then came my roof, I couldn't believe what I saw:
Pretty much the whole car was like this (where there was original paint). I'm guessing it was years and years of road grime, and this stuff removed it like it was nothing. Here was how my spoiler looked: As far as scratches went, it also did very well at eliminating scuffs and minor scratches (it did cover some noticeable medium/heavy scratches I had pretty decently). Afterwards I put on a new coat of Eagle One Nanotec wax, the car looks better than it has in years. Sorry for lack of pics with the final product, I finished around sunset. I'll get some pictures tomorrow showing the final result. |
