i tried to use vice grips to get my stripped plug loose, but they kept on sliding off. any suggestions on how to get it off. i don't have a torch.

i wouldnt advise using a straight nose vice grips
use the ones that are more like butt nose pliers, like the following. tap the head of the bolt with a hammar, this will aid the "cracking" of the bolt. also get some of that can freeze sh!t, duno if you guys have it over there, its a loctite product its a preasure pack can that sprays out has at -30 deg c or something, spray it on the bolt head immediatly before you try to undo it. Making metals colder (below 0 c) shrinks them, making it easier again. conversly if you like get some gas (oxy acet) onto the box itself to heat it up (dont heat the bolt head) obviously heating expands the metal around the bolt head.
