Going to replace my
-tranmission fluid, new filter at the same time? -clutch fluid -engine oil doesn't need to be done yet -radiator was done a while ago any others I should think about doing brake, power steering?? (remember this is a japanese car) recommendations on what brand and grade fluids I should be using? -------------------- |

The brake fluid HAS to be at least DOT-3; IIRC you can use DOT-4, it is equally as compatible, but DOT 5 contains silicone which I'm not sure works for our cars (depends on what our caliper piston boots are made of so it's better to be safe than sorry)

It's fine to use with non-ABS brake systems, it just really isn't necessary. It's not so much because its for use in heavy trucks and BMW's, but it's military grade stuff and cannot be mixed with anything less than itself, it's difficult to flush brake fluid without mixing it with whats already there. If you have a manual transmission (which I would assume since you're asking about clutch fluid) has no filter, you just drain and refill it. -------------------- |
