A few pics and videos from the biggest Japanese car meet in the UK a couple of weeks ago.
The event was held over 4 days at the end of August in the South East of England on Mersea Island. Was well worth the effort and by effort I mean the 10 hour trek it took us to get there with stopping off to pick up cars to join the convoy and to collect a generator. Massive amounts of hilarity were had over all 4 days, man Ive never laughed so much If you like a drink and like to rip the wee out of other like minded petrol heads, this is the one for you! there were cars from Europe that made the trip for the event as its such a big occasion. I detailed my car for a month before the show, night times and weekends always something to do, paying particular attention to corners and nooks and crannys that the judges would look for to set the car out from the others, then came the Saturday afternoon Toyota Show and Shine slot and I decided I was having too much fun drinking so didnt turn up for the judging. Seamed like a good idea at the time Heres some general pics and videos of the fun we had. A view from the venue The country roads leading on to Mersea Island Some of the GT4's on our stand Daz's Carlos Sainz launching onto the Mersea Island causeway A little monument to some of the beer we drank There were no empties for the 47 litres of Chris' home brew we drank (tasted bloody awful but made your head go pleasently numb Oasis tribute band "Definitely Mightbe" who played on the Friday night - they rocked!!! Sexy RX7 trailer queen EvoX Glanza V that Daz took a shine to as it looked like his CS Saturday night fireworks The one minor problem we had on the way back through Cambridge when dropping the generator off Me cleaning the inside of Looseys tail pipe (man did I get griefed for that one! ) Steve taking the naked chef thing one step too far, we'd only been there 2 hours so this set the tone (as low as it was ) Oh the things you do when youve been drinking for 17 hours straight, this gathered quite a crowd. We decided a game of keep up with a giant beech ball would be a good idea amongst the cars, whilst drinking, much hilarity ensued from spillage (thats me in the background peeing myself laughing on the ground) Cleaning your teeth - JAE stylee The rather large crowd that gathered wanted more so Daz gave it to them Loads of fun with great people, great cars, some of the humour maybe lost in the pics and vids but man they made me laugh my asre off at the time. I can reccomed the show whole heartedly but the camping is where the real fun is at P.S bring a spare liver with you. *Edit* Just to add, theres loads more pics and videos on GT4EC.net if you feel the need, including one of me trying the Pringle challenge and nealy dieing. Youll need to reg to get onto the forums but its free to looksie. Roll on 2009! -------------------- 1994 JDM GT4 WRC
