You gotta figure ANY car you buy used is gonna cost you another 1k just to get it running the way it should, whether it be brakes, engine stuff, fluids, whatever. The first thing I ALWAYS do with a car is get it running right before I start dumping money into bells and whistles. Function before form– it's retarded to have some tricked-out ride that runs like sh1t.
Your best bet is to take that $400 and follow Pressure's advice. -------------------- |

I always make it a point to spend the first years ownership of my cars just going over all the maintenance things the previous owners cheaped out on. It's an old saying but it's true - the best mod you can do for your car is to maintain it properly. That you will feel on the butt dyno. -------------------- ENGINE: '93 RC 3S-GTE/WRC CT-20b [18-20PSI] PERF: TRD/HKS/ARP/NGK/MSD/ACT/Blitz/STRI/APEX'i/TwosRus/GReddy/Magnaflo/KOYO SUSP: Tein/Bilstein/SusTech/ INT: SS-III SEATS/Toyota Hyper Sports EXT: WRC/TRD/404 Its a safety feature so that people like you don't end up killing themselves or everyone around them.
