Ok,
I'm about to purchase an alarm/keyless entry and would like to use remote start as well. If i ever park on a hill I tend to leave the car in gear so it won't roll. If I park on flat ground I just leave it in neutral and pull up the ebrake. What I am wondering is if our car has a "neutral safety switch". I have heard some cars have this and it basicaly wont allow the remote start to work unless the car is in neutral. I know that if I dindt use this some of my friends would probly be playing with my keys one day and start it while its in gear. If we dont have a neutral saftey switch I wont even use this function. I would love to be able to get my heater going in the mornings though during the winter. Does anyone recomend a certian model of alarm/remote start for manual cars. Also does anyone have a diagram for our car of how to hook it up? including what wires I need to tap into for keyless entry and ignition. I have installed an alarm before but it didnt have remote start and I dindt use the keyless entry b/c i had manul door locks and didnt want to install actuators. Any help would be appreciated. |

It's illegal around here as well, for the same reason. I don't care though. I mostly only use my remote start at home to let my car warm up when it's cold, when I'm showing it to people, or for confusing old people or my drunk friends. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...
