Im really getting more and more interest into just turboing my 5sfe engine, i was checking out some turbo kits on ebay for an 5sfe engine.. and 1 guy is selling an rebuilt turbo kit taken out from his 5sfe engine for only 200 bucks plus 60 shipping.. so im just wondering if this is a good idea, not in terms of buying his rebuilt engine.. but turboing my engine period. I mean i still want an Gt4, but im thinking maybe ill hold that off till i graduate and just buy another GT and dp the swap.. b/c i really love celicas ... and I also think I can do it myself!!!

Its all good. If you had the money, and were willing to wait on putting it back in for another couple of days, the CAM GEARS have nothing to do with the cam seals. You can install cam gears, even if your cam seals are already installed....just a little FYI. why don't you want to go past 60, whats your thoughts/reasoning behind that behind that. oh jus wanna be cautious.. the car isnt 100% tuned.. plus i dont have the ST205 hood yet.. so i dunno what the consequences since there will be no air flow from the hood to the intercooler Ok I must be missing something. Is this a "stock" ST205 going in.....Meaning stock turbo, stock ECU, and stock fuel? Because if it is, you car IS "100%" tunned. In fact, you car will be "100%" tunned up until you reach 340whp, which wont happen UNTIL you upgrade your turbo. As for the hood, it isn't needed to "cool down" the intercooler, because the stock water to air intercooler doesn't need air to pass through it to keep it cool, thats what the heat exchanger in the front bumper is for. The vent on the stock GT4 hood is for helping heat escape the engine bay. So if all said above is "stock" as I mentioned, dont be afraid to open it up......it wants you to, so might as well give it what it wants. LOL, or maybe thats what I want. Anyway, have fun with your new setup, at any boost level below 17psi, you want have any issues with that setup. --------------------
