exhaust problems, Failed WOF for being to loud Options

Hey all,

does any one know the stock dB rating for the 3sge?

New law has been passed in New Zealand here where any after market exhaust cannot be louder than stock without getting it certed.

Anyone else from NZ or elsewhere had similar problems. It appears it costs about $200 to get the check done but it cannot be said it will pass. Maximum level being 95 dB.

I am thinking of getting a different system put in and just put a silencer in it for WOF times.

Any recommendations? Its my birthday coming up so ill get the olds to help me out with it.

I am going to ring a few exhaust shops and see what they say but as we probably all know...trustworthy mechanics are hard to find.

Hey delusionz it appears it fits up to the fe motor not sure itll work on the 3sge. Went on to the TRD website and found the part numbers were for the fe motor.

k-weaver yea it does suck.

To be honest it is really loud in the cabin and sucks when doing long journeys so it will be better in that respect.
