 exhaust problems, Failed WOF for being to loud |

Hey all,
does any one know the stock dB rating for the 3sge? New law has been passed in New Zealand here where any after market exhaust cannot be louder than stock without getting it certed. Anyone else from NZ or elsewhere had similar problems. It appears it costs about $200 to get the check done but it cannot be said it will pass. Maximum level being 95 dB. I am thinking of getting a different system put in and just put a silencer in it for WOF times. Any recommendations? Its my birthday coming up so ill get the olds to help me out with it. I am going to ring a few exhaust shops and see what they say but as we probably all know...trustworthy mechanics are hard to find. Well went to magoo today. they fitted a new high flow muffler and another resonator, it is definitely quieter now and a lot smoother sound that doesnt make the ears bleed.
I am going to resit my WOF tomorrow so hopefully I will pass. Silly government.
